Russia Wins Support of the SCO to Expand Presence in Georgia

Russia recently won crucial support for its peace efforts in South Ossetia from China and other allies in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

If you don't know, the SCO unites six nations - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Its agenda includes energy, transportation, and security issues, as well as combating terrorism and drug trafficking on SCO territory, but the organization's expansion is not at all a minor technical problem.

Pakistan and India have openly expressed their desire to join the SCO. Others are less certain about it. Pakistan, India, Iran, and Mongolia have observer status. Their representatives (from presidents to ministers) regularly attend SCO summits and other events.

To be fair to Russia, a Russian official states “I’m amazed at the West’s failure to acknowledge the fact that it was Georgian armed forces who attacked peaceful civilians in Tskhinvali,” said Mr. Nazarbayev in televised remarks."

We here at TAS will continue to monitor the SCO and what their true agenda is. Perhaps this is the beginning of the formation of the coalition that will be eventually combating the West.

Russia Watch

Because their are literally hundreds of 'survivalists' websites on the internet, I'm going to take this blog in a slightly different direction. I'm still going to focus on survival, but because I believe that Russia is on the rise faster than American news sources will admit, perhaps because they don't want to start a panic, or perhaps because the US Government has stopped them from reporting on how powerful Russia has become because it is a matter of National Security and doesn't want to create a national panic. Well I'm going to start the official 'Russia Watch'.

This blog will start being a wonderful source for Russia, Venezuela and Iranian news because I will be following these non-American news sources:
The Hindu - Online edition of India's National Newspaper
Georgia's Ministry of Defense Blog - Russian hackers destroyed all of Georgia's prominent news websites, so Georgia has resorted to using Google's blogging site to get their news out.
Tdaxp - a collection of news from around the World.
Narco News - South American news

I will check these sources (and other sources that I will not mention) as often as I can and report on what is happening around the World, in regards to what we here at The Aspiring Survivalist believe will be the next Axis of Evil - Russia, China, Iran & some countries of South America. We here at T.A.S love America and want to see America survive in the 21st century, and remain the World's superpower. This will not happen if we do not continue to act like Ostriches and plop our heads in the sand, as we have been for so long now.

Wheeling & Hunting Trip @ Barrett Lake Trail in Northern CA

Two friends and I just got back from camping at Barrett Lake Trail, which is up Highway 50 in Northern CA, near Lake Tahoe.

Let me start off by saying that a few parts of the Barrett Lake Trail is not for the timid. My novice wheeling buddy who I was riding with had an 83 C.J. Jeep, 35in. tires and a heavily modified suspension/engine. My other buddy had an 87 CJ with 39.5in. tires, needless to say heavily modified.

Here's a video link of my buddy going through some of the rock gardens. It details well how tough this trail can be:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vj1qhomOSvQ

These 2 buddies that I went on this trip with are part of my retreat group, and it was wonderful practice on living 'off grid'. So even though it was a luxury, it did have SOMETHING to do with survival.

Author Naomi Wolf embodies what this blog is about

I was watching the Today show this morning and they had on political consultant turned author Naomi Wolf. Her interview and the premise of her new book, titled "Take Back Our Country" is exactly what this blog is intended to do. To give Americans the power to run this country ourselves, not have a bunch of fat-cat politicians living the high-life on the backs of the working class.

I have embedded a You Tube speech that Naomi made some time ago. I have not even had a chance to watch the You Tube video, nor have I had a chance to look in-depth at Wolf's record, but after watching her on the Today show, her responses to Meredith Vierra (sp?) convinced me that we all need to take a look at her book "Take Back Our Country". I can't seem to find the link, but as soon as I do, I will link it up here for you. Also, if you're going to buy something from Amazon, please show your support to the Aspiring Survivalist by going to Amazon through my Links on this page. It will not cost you a penny more, but it will help us here greatly. We appreciate your generosity. Again, if you are going to purchase the book, please go through this blog to get to Amazon to show your support! Thank you.

Energy Bulletin Responded!

Please read the 'comment' on the post below. It's Bart, editor of Energy Bulletin. It's a wonderful response. Please, all aspiring survivalists, read Bart's response.

I Challenged Energy Bulletin.Net. Let's see if they respond

When you Google many different types of keywords regarding 'survivalist', EnergyBulletin.net comes up. They are against 'survivalists'. So I sent them the following question. Lets see if they respond:

Subject Line:

Why are you suggesting that American's be wasteful?

I understand that my subject line is not entirely true. I realize your desire is to debunk all those 'survivalists' out there, preparing for 'a coming famine' or 'an unsustainable future'.

But many 'survivalists' out there are not just a bunch of nuts. Many of us are simply people that realize that our natural resources are limited and that we must be careful of the resources that we use, and understand how to be self-sustainable, and not expect our government to bail us out of any situation.

My question to you; why do you so strongly disagree with 'survivalists'? I've read your points, and they don't address the fact that our natural resources are limited, and will eventually run out. Why do you think it is not smart to prepare yourself and your family to become self-sustainable if need be?

I have a 'survival' blog.

Please visit it and comment wherever you like.

Thank you.

Map of America's Distribution of Wealth

I came upon this map after researching for my previous blog post. I thought it was interesting, so I thought I'd share it with all of you.

The map shows where the distribution of wealth is in America. The 'Skyscrapers' represent the amount of wealth in a particular area. The higher the 'Skyscraper', the higher the monetary income.

Obama is an Admitted Socialist. Why this is scary...

I am non-partisan. I do not think McCain is the answer to our economic and political woes, but Obama has admitted that he agrees with taking from the rich and giving to the poor. His policies are socialist by their very nature. Is socialism a bad thing? How about you read the follow excerpt, written by Mark J. Perry.

"Socialism is the Big Lie of the twentieth century. While it promised prosperity, equality, and security, it delivered poverty, misery, and tyranny. Equality was achieved only in the sense that everyone was equal in his or her misery.

In the same way that a Ponzi scheme or chain letter initially succeeds but eventually collapses, socialism may show early signs of success. But any accomplishments quickly fade as the fundamental deficiencies of central planning emerge. It is the initial illusion of success that gives government intervention its pernicious, seductive appeal. In the long run, socialism has always proven to be a formula for tyranny and misery.

A pyramid scheme is ultimately unsustainable because it is based on faulty principles. Likewise, collectivism is unsustainable in the long run because it is a flawed theory. Socialism does not work because it is not consistent with fundamental principles of human behavior. The failure of socialism in countries around the world can be traced to one critical defect: it is a system that ignores incentives.

In a capitalist economy, incentives are of the utmost importance. Market prices, the profit-and-loss system of accounting, and private property rights provide an efficient, interrelated system of incentives to guide and direct economic behavior. Capitalism is based on the theory that incentives matter!

Under socialism, incentives either play a minimal role or are ignored totally. A centrally planned economy without market prices or profits, where property is owned by the state, is a system without an effective incentive mechanism to direct economic activity. By failing to emphasize incentives, socialism is a theory inconsistent with human nature and is therefore doomed to fail. Socialism is based on the theory that incentives don't matter!"

Vote for who you want, but keep the country in mind, not just your own pocket book, because when a Russia/China/Iran coalition storm our shores and all we have are our 200 Million firearms (which is actually awesome, good luck axis of evil:) our pocketbooks won't matter. What will matter is our survival. Talk is cheap. Action is everything...

The D.O.D (Dept. of Defense) knows That American's Do Not Read

I used the title of this post from the speech Michael Ruppert gave Nov. 28th, 2001 at Portland State University.

Now, as I have said from the get-go, I'm non-partisan, non-sectarian, all I want is the truth. I don't care if your genitalia hang to the left or to the right, or if your a woman, if your right breast is slightly larger than your left, but my fellow Aspiring Survivalists, please take 15 minutes out of your life to watch this first clip that I have embedded here for you. I promise you, if you watch just a few minutes of this, you will want, no, NEED to see the rest of this presentation.

Now, after watching 2 or 3 of these segments, you may think, this guy is just a radical, or that he's making this stuff up, but I promise you, as soon as you see some of the documents that Ruppert displays, then says "this D.O.D. document states - We can write this because American's don't read, you'll be angry enough that you'll demand change. It's time folks, please watch...

KEEP IN MIND, MANY OF THESE VIDEOS & OTHER INFORMATION SUCH AS THIS DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE. SO WATCH IT WHILE IT'S STILL AVAILABLE.

Keeping People's Computers Clean...And Yours

I don't know if God gave me this as a gift or a curse, but when I go to someone's house, I obsess about cleaning out the 'gunk' from their computer. All of the cookies and spyware and B.S. that slows their computer down. I absolutely love to help them do that, and make their computer run more efficiently. I guess it's my charity, it's me riding the karma train.

I'm going to tell you the single best product (no, I'm not being endorsed or making off of them in any way for this plug) that will clean your, or somebody elses computer. I learned of this program from a former friend who is a software engineer, and one of the founders of silicone valley. Former because through my lack of effort to keep in contact, not his, we grew apart, as do so many people in my life.

ACE Utilities is the program. Download it now. Buy it now. It's only $29.99, and that gives you lifetime updates. It's the single most effective program I've ever seen to clean up your computer. My silicone valley friend turned me on to it. When I go to somebody's house, I either download the trial version, which is free, but only lasts for 30 days, but it at least let's me get the gunk out once or twice. Trust me, get this program, it's cheap and it works amazingly!

Another program, which almost sickens me to post on here, because the previous version was soo much better, is Ad-Aware. I'm sure many of you have heard of it. It sickens me to put it on here because the old version was free and powerful. The new version pretends to be powerful, but isn't until you pay like $50 or something to get the full version. Anyways, it's still a good product to have in your toolbox.

And of course, be sure to defragment your hard drive from time to time. This moves the files around on your hard drive so that they can found (accessed) easier and faster.

This ties in to survival because if your computer isn't working as fast as it should, you can't read updates of The Aspiring Survivalist as quickly ;)

Make some money while wasting time on the internet

Here are a few websites that will pay you to click on some their ads. You will not get rich doing this, but instead of reading the latest Britney Spears update, you could be earning a few cents a day, and eventually you can stack $10 or even $20 dollars!!! WOW (sarcasm).

Anyways, here are a couple of sites you should start with. Keep in mind that many of these sites don't pay, but the ones I've chosen here do, so stick to these ones:

These are links, so just click on them:

You may be wondering, what the fuck does this have to do with survival stuff. Well, instead of jacking off on the internet, you might as well be increasing your bank roll before society collapses.
