Despite All of the Woe's and Wrongful Acts, We Must Maintain Unity

In my previous post, T.A.S spoke on a personal note about the negativity of this blog. During this holiday season we collected many citizens criticisms and reviews of T.A.S.

What our critics ask is, and what I ask the readers of T.A.S and other Survival Related Blogs:

Why choose to hate monger and focus on negative Media and press, along with all of the bad things that happen in the World, and instead choose to focus on the positive things that are happening in this World, such as:

- The recognition of Global Warming by Industrialized Countries (whether it truly exists or not, at least it is now recognized.)

- That Iraq is now liberated and will become a Democracy (even though America will make sure that whoever is elected has OUR best interests in mind, which is good for us :)

- We are in an exciting time where we have the first African-American President, along with a President who can speak eloquently and express his administrations interests in a seemingly clear and transparent manner (whether he speaks the truth is yet to be seen)

- There is such a wonderful opportunity for first time home buyers!

I'll end it here, but I think you get the gist of what we are trying to convey. Let's love the fact that we can choose to be survivalists, or nudists, or Buddhists! Let's focus on the fact that despite rising prices on nearly everything in our lives, we still are generally healthy as a society. We can walk down the lamp posted streets on a nice sunny day and not worry about a missle coming out of the sky at you!

Let's focus on the positive for a while, see where that gets us, and we'll go from there!

I Hope Obama Can Lead as well as He can Speak

Over this holiday season, many of my friends and family members who have been keeping up with T.A.S blog were not pleased with me. Many of them were asking me why the focus of this blog is so negative. Many friends and family members asked me why I am choosing to focus on negative news and ideas, instead of focusing on positive things.

Many of them believe that Obama will play an integral role in altering the course America is currently heading down. They believe in Obama's speeches, and believe that Obama truly wants to improve this Country in economic as well as political ways, for the good of the people.

I have chosen to agree with them for now. The reason is that if Obama's charisma and the speeches that he delivers to the American people are the truth, and NOT just more of the same political rhetoric that is tossed around in seemingly every political campaign, then I choose to support Obama for now.

I know it has been a while since I have posted, and it is for a variety of reasons, mainly time, as I have said in previous posts. T.A.S is a passion of mine, but it does not pay the bills, so between working two jobs and finding time to spend with friends and family, at this time T.A.S simply must be put on the back burner. I apologize, we'll continue to post when we can. :-(

Quotes About the Economy From our Founding Fathers

Click here to see what the Founding Fathers of our Country said about the American economy. It has many quotes from many of our Founding Fathers, including, Lincoln, Jackson, Roosevelt and others. Here's one example of a quote from Jefferson from the site:

If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and the corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.... The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.

... The modern theory of the perpetuation of debt has drenched the earth with blood, and crushed its inhabitants under burdens ever accumulating. -Thomas Jefferson

I found this site from StumbleUpon. This website StumbleUpon is a wonderful resource. It's a one stop place for many informative and worthwhile websites. If you check it out, I bet you will go there often. Let's forget our worries during the holidays and try to have some holiday cheer. I'll be here to check T.A.S. daily in case someone comments on anything here! Happy holidays everybody!

A List of How Your Representative Voted on the $700 Billion Financial Rescue Bill

For all of you who want to know how your Representative voted on the recent bailout, here is the list. This list was taken from Fox Business News. Click here for the website:

These bailouts are keeping the U.S. Economy from reaching it's natural cyclical bottom and then beginning its natural rise. It's horrific for the economy. I know that many may argue that w/o the bailout, unemployment would skyrocket and our economic system would collapse, but that is the natural cycle of economics. These bailouts are just holding off the inevitable crash that will still result from our inexcusable lending practices, and it might as well be sooner rather than later.

Check to see how your representative voted on the $700 billion financial rescue bill. For all the Representatives that voted Yea, they are destroying this Country. Please DO NOT VOTE FOR THEM NEXT TERM!

Governor Selling Obama's Vacant Seat. A Glimpse of How America Runs

This story sickens me. Here's a snippet, the rest you can read by clicking here.

"Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich stands accused of trying to sell the president-elect's vacant U.S. Senate seat for financial and other personal benefits for himself and his wife, among other charges." - Taken from Reuters.

This sheds some light on just how the heads of this country really runs. And you think Obama is any better? HAAHAH. You think Obama and his cronies don't stoop to these levels. This is HOW THEY GET INTO THESE POSITIONS!!!

The officials in our government aren't there because of the good they have done, or seek to do, it is because they were willing to do whatever and hurt whoever it took to rise to a position of power.

Our founding fathers would be sickened by the people we refer to as our government. But alas, what can we do about it? We are just individuals without power. Here is an interesting link. It's how every congress person voted on the $700 Billion financial bailout. Click here to see how your congress person voted on the bailout.

Right now unemployment is about 10% in CA, and it's rising quickly. And all of these bailouts are ridiculous. Congress is trying to stop the inevitable. Instead of letting the market crash and letting the cycle restart on its own, they are throwing money at the problem, hoping that it will go away, when what they are really doing is keeping the bottom of the market from forming, and keeping the current market conditions from re-booting itself.

For the readers of T.A.S. and other ON and OFF Grid survivalists, keep your stockpiles piled, your weapons primed, and your conscience on the ready, because I fear that we are quickly heading down a dark path where it will be every man, woman and child for themselves.

Make sure you have your Retreat Party and Retreat Locale picked now. Do not wait. After seeing this news story above, the entire government is much more corrupt than I even imagined it to be.

Take care everybody.

Listen to Tom Sullivan on AM Radio

When I get the chance, the only talk show host who I have the utmost respect for and listen to is Tom Sullivan. He used to be a popular talk show host in my home town of Sacramento, CA. He is now syndicated by FOX News throughout the entire United States.

If you don't listen to Tom Sullivan, please start to. He is a financial expert who is non-partisan, non-sectarian, he just takes each issue and breaks it down. You could say he is more of a conservative, but he does not let his partisanship dictate his view on a particular issue.

In the Sacramento area, he is played on KFBK 1530 AM from 12:00pm - 3:00pm. Wherever you live, you can find out when he plays, or you can listen to him live at Tom Sullivan.com.

What is Obama's 'Civilian National Security Force'?

Here is a brief clip taken from Youtube of Obama talking about how his administration will create a "Civilian National Security Force".

Despite holding down three jobs to pay the bills, as well as X-mas shopping and preparing for the holidays, I have been trying to dig deeper into what Obama means by a Civilian National Security Force. I have found some websites with crazy conspiracy theories, about how this force will be created to maintain 'more' control over American citizens, others websites talk about how this is going to be a wonderful idea because it will help protect the American people.

I will not write whether I believe this is to control the American public, or if it is to protect the American public, because I do not have enough information to form an educated opinion. Who knows, it could be a bit of both!?!

Please weigh in on this, I would love to hear what you think about this.

Also, you can easily find the Obama's entire speech on Youtube.

Blogs Just Regurgitate Other Sources

Have you noticed that many blogs and websites simply copy word for word a relevant story and then post it as if it were their own? What a mindless activity, and it seems like that is what the internet has become.

I'll admit, I do similar things. I will post a story that I found on a news site, but I ALWAYS cite the source, and I usually paraphrase and throw my own opinion, or another view of the story, and try to read between the lines a bit.

It seems like many bloggers today simply cut & paste content to keep their blog current. This scam can be found on Survival blogs, Celebrity blogs and News blogs, or just about any blog.

It's a bit of a metaphor for what is happening to this Country. The Decision Makers throughout the Country are not doing anything new, not creating new policy, or generating new ideas, they are just regurgitating the same old plans that don't work, and that is why, in my life, I believe we'll see the collapse of America as the World's superpower.

Damn, I said I'd be posting happier posts, well, I guess not today :-)

My Day as a Salesman

I am a salesman. I just had a big client tell me over the phone yesterday that he would sign the paperwork, fly in today from San Diego, CA and cut the check to me in person, since I'm from Northern CA.

Well he flew in from San Diego and we met, and he said he would have to think about it and that there is a 90% chance that he'll hand over the check tomorrow, but he just wants to check with his partners. Well, he didn't hand over the check. The deal did not happen because his lender said that he didn't have to. But in a few days, certain news will come across his lenders desk, and then the deal will go through, so the deal will happen, I'll just have to wait a few more days, plus, because the client waited, the deal is going to cost them three times as much, so that's three times as much commission for me! I'm angry and happy at the same time. It's like taking a satisfying dump, then clogging the toilet.

I've lost a lot of money and deals over being moral & honest, but I will remain an honest businessman, and the choice that this person made to wait to make the deal was a poor mistake, and will cost him a lot in the near future.

Anyways, just another day on-grid.
